Setting the standards

At Autumn House, we believe that the comfort, safety and rights of our residents are paramount. We are committed to ensuring that our staff and facilities meet our own high standards, as well as the minimum requirements mandated by law. To make this happen, we involve all of our stakeholders in monitoring and quality control. Naturally, this includes our residents, who are the primary focus of Autumn House. We believe that all our residents should have an active say in the running of their home.

Residents

As well as offering day-to-day feedback, each resident has a regular meeting with a senior staff member, where they can discuss any concerns, make suggestions and recommend changes. Our primary goal is to provide each of our residents with a safe, comfortable home and to allow them to flourish in our care, pursuing their own interests and maintaining their independence.

Staff

All of our staff are trained to provide quality care and to recognise warning signs of abuse or bullying from other staff or residents. Autumn House is part of a network of care homes, and staff from each regularly visit the others. Visiting staff have behind-the-scenes access and are able to monitor ongoing situations.

Senior management

Our senior management are hands-on and involved in the day-to-day running of Autumn House. They are available to listen to any concerns brought to them, whether by residents, friends and family or staff. In addition, they actively monitor the work of their staff and the physical and emotional environment at Autumn House.

External assessments

At Autumn House, we are proud to provide a high level of care and work hard to maintain the standards we’ve set. We welcome inspections and certification from government bodies, ensuring that we follow important standards, both in our care work and other areas. We aim to comply with all relevant standards and guidelines governing our work. This includes a wide range of areas, from food preparation to fire safety and individual care to therapeutic massage.

Friends and family

We hope that every member of our community, including visitors, will inform us if they witness something which worries them or have a general concern. We aim to resolve issues rapidly and take all complaints seriously.
