Waking up

Residents begin getting up for the day at around 6am. Many of our residents like to start the day with a cup of tea, brought to them in bed. Our staff are on hand, providing support for those who need assistance getting dressed and ready for the day ahead. Breakfast is at 8:30 in the dining room. We encourage all our residents to take at least some of their meals in the dining room, but they may eat in their own room if they prefer.

Mornings

A chance to plan and discuss the day ahead. Residents will often meet in one of the lounges to chat over morning coffee or arrange an outing. Some residents will have scheduled therapies, massages or doctor’s appointments. We welcome a hairdresser to the home once a week, and others, such as a chiropodist, less frequently.

Lunch

Our chef provides menu plans ahead of time, allowing each resident to select their meals and ensuring that we can cater for any special diets or personal preferences. Residents can invite guests to share a meal with them, and lunch is a popular choice.

Afternoons

Residents often gather in the lounges to watch TV, share a game or hobby or may choose to work on a personal project in their room. Other residents go out in the afternoons, either independently or with family or friends. As many of our residents prefer frequent, smaller meals, we offer both afternoon tea and high tea, as well as providing hot drinks on demand. Residents with higher care needs often have therapies or special activities planned for this time.

Supper

The main evening meal is at 6pm and we offer a late supper as well. Meal times can vary, but are usually regular, as they provide a structure to the day. After supper, residents may choose to socialise in one of the lounges or retire to their room.

End of the day

Staff are active, caring for our residents as they need it throughout the day and night. We aim to provide the support each resident needs to live their life as fully and independently as possible. At the end of the day, our care assistants will help residents to dress for bed and get settled, and will then be on-call until morning.
